Daybook for February 22, 2011

Outside my window... a bright sun reflecting off the freshly fallen snow.

I am thinking... about ways to simplify my home even more. I do not have a lot of extra things sitting around, but I can see about fifteen things that I just need to give away or throw out. They are just taking up space and collecting dust.

I am thankful for... a new beautiful day to enjoy.

From the kitchen... kielbasa, shells and cheese, potatoes, and broccoli for dinner. This is the kind of meal the kids love, but it is not one that Chris and I get excited about.

I am wearing... pajamas.

I am creating... a plan for the rest of the week.

I am reading... Immodesty - Satan's Virtue, written by Rita Davidson. I visited with a family from our homeschool group this Saturday for several hours. While I was there, my friend gave me this book to read. Modesty is not a new topic among Catholics. When my family came back to the Church, I did my research, prayed, and set some guidelines for myself that I am still comfortable with following. Honestly, I was not sure if I would read this book, but my husband started reading it shortly after I brought it home. I have decided to read it with him. We are not very far into it, but we have already had some interesting conversations.

I am praying for... several personal intentions and for the intentions of friends.

I am hearing... my two youngest boys singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song.

Around the house... cleaning out the toy baskets and finishing the laundry.

One of my favorite things... happy boys playing together.

A few plans for the week... last basketball practice and game. It is has been an exciting season. I know Holden will miss it. Thomas was ready for basketball to end. He played his last game on Saturday. Thomas is excited that soccer will start soon.

A photo thought...

  1. I see on your sidebar you're reading the 4:8 Principle...Life Changing book! I borrowed it from the library and kept rechecking it until my own copy arrived from amazon. I need to recheck Organized Simplicity.

  2. I am finished the book now. I took so many notes while I was reading it. So much to think about.
Thanks for you visit! I enjoy your blog, and I actually became a follower this week.
