At The Beach

We love spending time at the beach, and we are fortunate enough to live within a short driving distance to many beach vacation spots. Often we will pack up my sister-in-law's twelve passenger van early in the morning and head for the beach to spend the day with family and friends. While most people head for the busy beaches with the boardwalks, shops, restaurants, and rides, our favorite place is a small beach on the bay side. The beach is often empty so the kids can run and roam around without disturbing the serious sunbathers that crowd the popular beaches, and they are able to explore and play with no fear of injury from massive waves. We enjoy our days at the beach so much.

The kids were so excited when they found this crab.

These little fish nibble at our ankles.

Jack and a horseshoe crab

While the kids were digging, they found some little green horseshoe crab eggs.

And just in case you are wondering, Abby and Emily are two of Chris's sisters. Ben, Frank, Jack, and little Chris are our nephews. Caroline is our niece. They are the children of Kelly, Chris's other sister and the owner of the twelve passenger van. Also, no animals are ever hurt during our time at the beach.

  1. I would choose the quiet beach, too. I can't believe that huge horseshoe crab!

  2. Sigh...I am going to miss being driving distance from the beach when we live in Tokyo. You are blessed and so are your children to have access to the beach. I grew up going to the beach in San Diego all of my life.

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to leave a friendly comment! :-)
