Daybook

Around the Yard
Everything is wet. It rained all day yesterday, and it was wonderful. The ground is soft, and the air has cooled down. It finally feels like April.

I'm Listening to
Boys playing and a beeping microwave.

Moments of Gratitude
Rain, my strong husband holding my grandmother's hand, my grandmother smiling again, good friends that listen and help, kind nurses

Pondering
I have spent a lot of time since my grandfather died thinking about my grandmother's future care. Chris and I had hoped and prayed that she would come live with us, but unfortunately, she is unable to move into our home. Saturday morning, my grandmother choked while taking her morning pills and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. Once at the hospital, several tests came back with poor results, and it looks like she is going to be at the hospital for several more days. Plans are being made for her care by her children, and I know they are making the best decisions they can for her.

Praying
for my grandmother, for my oldest son as he starts learning to drive, for my family, for friends and their special intention

Beauty in the Ordinary
This weekend we had two of our nephews staying with us. There has been twice as much running, jumping, and laughing around here. Bed time was not on time. They will be leaving this afternoon. I imagine all of the boys will fall into bed early tonight!

Home Learning
We are plugging along, but we will not finish early this year. I feel like I need a long summer break, but we will still be working on math through June.

Breaking Bread
Fresh fruits and vegetables, oats, rice, beans, and nuts on the menu this week and every week. We are really enjoying the plant-based way of eating. I am trying something new with tofu this week.

Looking Ahead
We have soccer practice and a game. A vet appointment for the cat. I am so excited that this is a low activity week. I am in need of some long days at home with my boys.

  2. I enjoyed reading your minutes, a slice of your life. I understand the concern you have for your grandma. I keep asking my grandparents to move in with us {Hmm, I have no idea why they keep saying no to moving in with seven children 13-6weeks LOL} or at least move closer. In reality, they will most likely never move from the farm they have lived on forever.
