My Favorite Homeschooling Item

Dwija at House Unseen is hosting a link up of favorite homeschooling items and I am joining the party!

What is my favorite homeschooling item? Well, that is so easy! It is my dry erase board.

I homeschooled for several years without one. I had no idea that I needed one. My bad for being clueless!

A friend gave me one as a gift a few years ago, and it changed my life. Ok, that may be a little dramatic, but seriously, it made teaching reading, spelling, and math so much easier.

An added bonus, guests love it, too. There have been many times when I have found a little note or picture drawn on it after we have had people over for a birthday party or holiday gathering.

Just make sure that you hang it low enough for the youngest pupils in the family or you may find that even though they can not reach the board does not keep them from trying to write on it.

Please visit the other ladies to see what their families can not live without in their schoolroom.

  1. Oh my gosh, I have SO wanted a white board but just haven't made it a priority. Next year, I swear!

  2. I love your nifty whiteboard! I was in two Targets today looking for an old-school black chalkboard, and felt like a million years old...all they had were sleek whiteboards.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

    1. Jeannine, I have read about people using a picture frame, cardboard, and chalkboard paint to make their own chalkboard when they have been unable to find one in a store. I think they cut a piece of cardboard to fit the frame, painted it, removed the galss from the frame, and put the painted cardboard in the frame.
