Catholic Woman's Almanac

I did not plan to take a six month break from blogging. It just happened, and once I was a few months into it, I really thought that I was done blogging forever. I had a lot of negative self talk going on, and I just felt like I didn't have anything important to say or share. Looking back, I can see that I was still trying to deal with my grandfather's death, my grandmother moving into a nursing home, and another miscarriage. The time off was good for me. I feel better, and I feel this gentle push to start blogging again. I am taking it slow. I plan on starting with a few link ups a week, as long as time allows it. No pressure.

Joining Catholic Woman's Almanac at Suscipio.

Thankful for
- the sun shining
- new life popping up in the yard
- a four year old that can finally sit still during Mass (six weeks and counting)
- Chris still making me laugh as hard as he did when we first met over 20 years ago

Reading

Pondering
-Psalm 132:11-18 (NAB)

11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a pledge never to be broken: "Your offspring I will set upon your throne.
12 If your sons observe my covenant, the laws I shall teach them, Their sons, in turn, shall sit forever on your throne."
13 Yes, the LORD has chosen Zion, desired it for a dwelling:
14 "this is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I desire it.
15 I will bless Zion with meat; its poor I will fill with bread.
16 I will clothe its priests with blessing; its faithful shall shout for joy.
17 There I will make a horn sprout for David's line; I will set a lamp for my anointed.
18 His foes I will clothe with shame, but on him my crown shall gleam."

  1. I understand time off. I'm happy to see you are back and recharged. I love laughing with my husband. One of my friends this weekend even said, a good day to her is when she makes her husband laugh. I totally agree!

  2. It's always good to reevaluate -- there is a season for everything, right? And yay for four-year-olds who can sit through mass! It's a new world, right?

I will be praying for you regarding your miscarriage. I am so sorry for your recent losses.

  3. Erica, So sorry for your losses. I think that negative self talk hounds many of us bloggers on occasion..and time off is definitively a good thing. Don't let the enemy convince you that you have nothing to say..I assure you , it's a lie. : )
    Blessings +

  5. Erica, I'm just getting to this post. I'm behind in my reader and saw your other post first. I am so sorry about your miscarriage. I know that heartache, too, but not as often as you have. I'll be praying for you. Congrats to your 4yo. So I have two more years to go til my little guy makes it through? Right now I spend most of Mass chasing him through the narthex. Glad to have you back!!! : )
