What I Wore Sunday

Hi! This is my first time linking up with the lovely ladies at Fine Linen and Purple for What I Wore Sunday

I just recently started blogging again after a 6 month break. I wrote a little about my break here.

Well, for some reason I am a little nervous. I feel like the new girl on the block. That is a  little silly of me, I know.

I guess I will start with what I wore.

It is very boring but also very comfortable! My cardigan, shirt, and skirt are from Kohls. My shoes are from Coldwater Creek.
But what I am really excited about are my earrings!

I made them on Friday. I just love them. I used copper wire, glass beads, and copper colored metal rose charms.

Ralph, our 4 year old, behaved well during Mass this morning, so we treated the family to donuts after Mass. I guess that means I need to add some extra time to my run today!

I gave up my snooze button for Lent this year. My alarm goes off every morning at 6:10, and every morning for the last year I have hit the snooze button, taken my temperature, and then allowed myself to sleep in until 7:30. Oh, the luxuries of  having children that sleep in and a husband that does not have to leave for work until 8! I knew that sacrificing some sleep would truly be difficult for me because I love my sleep. It has been hard, but I already see the benefits of getting my day started earlier. I also dedicated myself to reading The Bible in 90 Days. Now, the first 40 minutes of my day are spent reading my Bible. I am enjoying the quiet, my tea, and especially my time in God's Word.

Praying everyone has a blessed week!

  1. You look so pretty, Erica!

This is only my third week, and it is such fun!

And you made the earrings? They are gorgeous.

I agree that starting my day well is the most important thing I can do to ensure peace in my day.

  2. Welcome to the link-up! It's so fun- like having little friends you see every week.

Anyway, I love that you made your own earrings. My mom used to make lots of our jewelry, so it makes me all warm-fuzzy on the inside.

...as do donuts and good Mass behavior :-D

    1. As much as I love my 3 boys, they are not fun to make jewelry for! Ha! I bet your mom loved making jewelry for you. :)

  4. That is a wonderful Lent idea to give up. Like you, I love my sleep, but now my kids don't know about the snooze button. They have learned that once the alarm goes off they can get up and play. lol

    1. Hi Natalie, your guys are still little, but as they get older they will want to sleep in. My teenager would sleep all day if we let him! Lol! The other two do not usually sleep past 8.

  5. What beautiful earrings! You made them yourself? I'm impressed! I can't wait for my little one to be out of the jewelry-grabbing stage so that I can start finding fun earrings again.

  6. What a genius thing to give up for Lent. I'll have to try something similar. It's not too late to take on something new! BTW, the earrings are fabulous — great job! I love anything copper or rose gold.

  7. Welcome to the party Erica!!
Seriously great lenten sacrifice. I don't know what I would do without my snooze alarm. I depend on it way too much.
Your outfit is lovely. Just lovely. The earrings are stunning and I am always in favor of a cute t-strap shoe! Looking forward to what you share next week.

  8. You look so lovely! I, too, am working on the snooze button this Lent. It's so worthwhile, and so hard.
