Yarn Along

Joining Ginny for Yarn Along again this week.
I finished the little vest for my nephew. I am happy with it, but I have not tried it on him yet. I hope to be able to see how it fits on Thursday.

Right now I am knitting a scarf. Again, I am just writing what I am knitting as I work. Right now, this scarf is just a combination of eyelets and cables, but I think I may switch it up and return to the eyelets and cables at the other end. Honestly, I think this yarn is so colorful that the texture is lost on it. My hope is that the scarf will be long enough to wrap around my neck a couple times, and then secure it with a couple small buttons through the eyelets. It may not work out that way, but I think that is my plan! Ha!

I am still reading the same books as last week, but I am almost finished with Cravings. I am not sure what I will read next, but there are several books on my shelf to choose from. I am not sure if I want to read fiction or nonfiction. Hmmm..

Have a great week!

    1. Thank you. Originally, I thought I would knit a sock monkey with it, but then I decided to knit a cheery scarf with it.

  4. I have not knitted with variegated yarn yet. I've done crochet, but not knitting. Those colors would really bring out the spring mood! I like the pattern...I love having texture in my knitting, don't you?

I have Cravings from the library but haven't started yet.

  5. Great yarn...I understand what you say about pattern and colors. I've changed yarn on projects, because the yarn is so busy, it is great just straight knitting without a design to slow you down. The sweater I've started 4 times is now in a solid green so the pattern will show better... and i can't count when I'm talking sometimes, so that accounts for one false starts, and hey, when you figure out it's too big, just roll it back in a ball and go for it again!

    1. Straight knitting! That is what I need right now, even if it is only a few inches. And another thing that I love about knitting is no waste. If I don't like what I have knitted, well, I get to just start over. Time spent knitting is stress relief. Never is it wasted time!
