Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday was gray, cool, and wet, but it was a still a beautiful day.
Easter is my favorite day of the year. I look forward to going to Mass and saying/singing Alleluia. It truly is the happiest day of the year!

We took a bunch of pictures before Mass. Several of them were hilarious. Chris and Holden are so difficult to get a decent picture of because they make the weirdest faces! I hope the younger boys keep their easy smiles as they grow up. Plus, it is hard to get nice close up pictures of us because of our height differences.

This picture cracks me up. Ten funny face pictures came before this one. I am standing on the balls of my feet. He is 6' 2",and I am 5' 4".

Holden is almost 6' 3". Thomas is standing on a stool, Ralph is standing on a chair, and Holden is stooping a little.

I have decided that I do not like this outfit. The skirt is comfy, but it was hard to get the wrinkles out of it. They came right back after only wearing it a couple of minutes. The cardi is too big and shapeless, and the color is blah. The cantaloupe colored tee is fine, I guess. I bought these shoes to wear, but it was too cool and wet the wear them. Bummer. In case anyone is interested, the cardi is from Shade, and the skirt and tee are from Walmart. The shoes are from Kohl's.

After Mass, we came home and changed into our house clothes and got the house and food ready for our dinner guests. My mother and Chris's mother, brother, one of his sisters, and his grandmother came over for dinner. They brought some yummy additions to the menu, and we had a great time. This year, our Easter dinner was a third of the size it usually is because the rest of Chris's family is on vacation.

This is my lovely mother with the boys.

After dinner, some of us played The Game of Life. The rest of us watched or slept through The Hobbit.

We had a wonderful day!

  1. Happy Easter, Erica! You and your gang all look great...and you made me nostalgic when you mentioned playing the Game of Life. That used to be a family favorite of ours--many, many moons ago.

  2. I do like that cantaloupe colored top, and I think the sweater is nice. Maybe a patterned floral skirt would make the sweater feel more purposeful.

    Your boys are so handsome!

  4. Can you belt the sweater to give it more shape? That style always trips me up, but belts definitely help!

Love that picture of the boys and their height discrepancies! Maybe they can sit for the next picture :P

    1. I did try a belt, but I did not like the way it looked.
Yep, we have done the sitting picture before.

  5. Erica, I like your outfit but I understand about the skirt wrinkling. I've pretty much given up on linen for that reason. I do think that cantaloupe color looks nice on you. Love all your family pics!
