What I Wore Sunday ~ the hand-me-down skirt

The outfit.

I am so happy I found this skirt.

My sister-in-law, Kelly, gave it to me last year, and it ended up in a bin of sweaters that I had packed away. It must be from Target because it is Merona. The white tee is from Sam's Club. The gray cardigan and heels are from Kohl's, both of them are old.

It's another beautiful Sunday! I love Sunday! The last Mass this morning was less full than normal. I wonder if some people anticipated the beautiful weather and decided to attend an earlier Mass. We stopped by the donut shop on the way home because a certain 4 year old was so well-behaved at Mass and deserved a donut. I did not get a donut. I am sure that I do not need to remind you about last Sunday. Then Chris and I dropped the boys off at home (it is so nice having a responsible teenager that can watch his younger brothers), and we went to the garden center to pick up some things for the yard and garden. Now Chris and Holden are working on Holden's truck, and I am cooking dinner while typing this post. It has been a busy day, but a good kind of busy!

I can't wait to check out what all the lovely ladies that link-up at Fine Linen and Purple wore on this glorious Sunday!

  1. Its cute! I like grey, goes with a lot of things and not sooo dark like black. It was a beautiful day here, too!

  2. Love the whole ensemble, especially the sweater and heels! A little sad that they are old, but since I'm pretty strictly thrifting for any new fun pieces for me, that's probably best as I'm not tempted to run to the store. :) Beautiful all around!

    1. Thanks, Rakhi! I wish we had some better thrift stores in my area. I can never find anything when I go thrifting, which is not often, which is probably why I never find anything. Ah well! Thanks again for your sweet comment. :)

  3. I think gray is a great neutral for you, Erica. (You know how they say we should all pick a to-to neutral? Anyway, gray is yours. ;-) . . . BTW, My 4 year old did NOT get a donut. She's earned one for the last several Sundays but not today :-(

    1. Thanks, Laura! I have never heard about picking a go-to neutral. I will have to look into that! I am on the look out for a new neutral purse for this summer and now I am looking for a gray one. Thanks for the advice!
Four is such a difficult age because they can be good at Mass but they are not every week, and you just never which week they will decide to talk and wiggle the entire time.

  4. That is a great skirt! I second Laura's comment on the neutral-- you look great in grey.

  5. The pointelle detail on that sweater is divine.

    1. Shannon, I love that sweater because of the detail. It does not look good closed though! It is plenty big enough for me to button, so I was wearing it buttoned in the first picture. Ick, I looked like I was wearing some sort of metal cage, so I went with the unbuttoned and open look.
