WIWS

Happy Sunday! The day started out so nice, and then we got to Mass! Ralph talked, whistled, wiggled, and kicked the entire time we were at Mass. Ralph's birthday is tomorrow. He will be five years old. He can think of nothing else. Needless to say, he did not get a donut, and I ate two!

Craft completed: bracelets for Abby and Emily

I made bracelets for my sister-in-laws' Gotcha Day gifts this year. I used freshwater pearls for the first one and dyed imperial jasper for the second one. I added a rose charm to each bracelet and used a toggle clasp to finish the bracelets. The charm and toggle clasps have a gunmetal finish.

Theme Thusday: Black and White

Recently, we have had many thunderstorms roll through town. I love thunderstorms. As a kid, I sat on my grandparents' front porch and waited for storms to start.
I took these pictures of a storm that rolled in fast a couple of weeks ago. The sky was very dark, and the air was thick.

Yarn Along

I only have enough time for a quick Yarn Along today! Chris and I were out of town at the IHM National Homeschool Conference this weekend.

Craft completed: rosary bracelet

I have wanted a rosary bracelet for a long time. This week I finally made one for myself. I used 10mm India agate beads, an Our Lady of Perpetual Help charm, a crucifix, and a silver toggle clasp. I love the way my rosary bracelet turned out. I know I will wear this bracelet often.

Theme Thursday: Water

I am linking up with Cari at Clan Donaldson for Theme Thursday again. Today's theme is water.
I love taking pictures of water. I have a ridiculous amount of water pictures. Today I am sharing a few pictures that I took last August while we were vacationing in Maine.

At the Zoo

On Tuesday, we visited a small zoo in Maryland. We try to visit this zoo once a year. We like this little zoo because it is free, and it has a great playground at the end of it.

WIWS

Happy Sunday! It has been a couple of weeks since I linked up over at Fine Linen and Purple for What I Wore Sunday. I did not want to bore you with my repeat outfits. Today I am sharing a repeat skirt with a new boring top. Ha!

Craft completed: copper and crystal earrings

I love the look of antique copper jewelry, but I did not own one single piece. One day I was shopping at the local craft store, and I came across some antique copper charms that I knew were perfect for earrings. I just had to buy them! I did not have any copper components in my jewelry making stash, so I also bought copper wire and earring hooks. Of course, I needed to purchase Swarovski crystals beads to make my earrings sparkle. I am happy with how my finished earrings look.

Mass With Young Children

Recently I was part of a discussion about how hard it is to keep young children quiet and still during Mass. One mom said that Sunday was the hardest day of the week for her. She explained that attending Mass with her toddler challenged her mentally and physically to the point of exhaustion. Some of the moms said that they stayed outside in the foyer while their family sat together in the church. Other moms said that they kept their kids busy with books and small treats. One mom said that her family attended two different Masses so that the youngest children did not have to go to Mass. All of the moms could not wait until their young children were old enough to sit still so that they could enjoy Mass as a family.

Beach Day

Yesterday we had a great day at the beach. The weather was warm, but the breeze coming off of the water was cool.

Yarn Along

Last week I found out that a good friend of mine is having a baby girl. I started knitting a Garden Trellis Dress for her daughter with sock yarn that I had in my stash.

Craft completed: knitted earrings

I watched a couple of tutorials on how to add beads to knitted projects, so I decided to practice by making little triangles. Once I finished them, I decided to turn them into earrings. This was a quick project that I enjoyed doing.

My Favorite School Items for Preschoolers {Five Favorites #2}

Joining the lovely Hallie for Five Favorites this week.

Sharing my five favorite school items for preschoolers.

Off of the needles: a vest for a boy

I finally finished knitting my second vest for Dan. This vest is a perfect fit for Ralph right now, but the weather is too warm for him to actually wear it for longer than the time it takes to snap a couple of pictures.

Craft completed: Blessed Mother key chain

I have a very old, close friend named Jackie. Our birthdays are a week apart. We try to see each other every year in April to celebrate our birthdays. This year we celebrated a month late. We had a wonderful time. She came over to my house, and I cooked an ordinary meal. We did not have a cake, but we did enjoy a very nice bottle of wine. We spent hours talking, laughing, and a tiny bit of crying. It was very nice to spend time with my old friend.

I gave this key chain to Jackie. She is Catholic and loves our Blessed Mother.
