7 Quick Takes (vol 4)

1. I mentioned last week that I would write about wearing skirts and my body issues, but honestly, I can not wrap my brain around that post right now. This week has been one rollercoaster ride, and I am feeling negative about my body, and its inability to work properly.

2. I ran a few errands on Monday, and one of the places I visited was the thrift store. Below is a picture of me wearing the new skirt I bought for $3.75. I think it was a great find!

3. You may be thinking that I look a little ill in the picture, and you are right. I was not feeling my best. I found out on Monday that I was pregnant. It took me two days to believe it. After all, I had decided to stop focusing on my fertility. Once it finally started sinking in, I allowed myself to get a little excited. Then the spotting started. Today, I am sad to report that I have had another early miscarriage. Will you say a prayer for me?

4. Moving on to happy news. On Wednesday, I mentioned that we found out that Chris's brother and sister-in-law are expecting a baby girl. They told us the news in a fun way. They filled a pi├▒ata up with candy and one little pink plastic baby bootie. Then they let all of the kids take a whack at it. Thomas was the one that finally split it open. You can imagine how excited we all were to see that pink bootie. We love all of our boys, but it has been a long time since we had a baby girl around to love.

5. Thomas and I were in need of new glasses, so I ordered us each a new pair. We both went with a slightly bigger frame than last time. They arrived in the mail today. What do you think? I think they look nice.

6. Starting tomorrow, Chris will have a week off of work. Last year we went to Maine. This year we are staying closer to home. We are going to work on the yard, go to a water park, maybe spend a couple days on Skyline Drive. I can not wait!

7. We have had so much rain this spring and summer. Honestly, I am ready for a long break! One afternoon after a rain shower there was a rainbow. I was standing in my backyard when I took this picture. The boys were excited that the rainbow appeared to be right over their cousins' house. Although, they wished it had ended in their cousins' backyard instead of our neighbor's yard because they wanted a share of the pot of gold.

  1. I'm so sorry about the miscarriage. I had an early miscarriage in January and I still get upset about it. Keeping you in my prayers and sending hugs. But that is wonderful news about the baby girl and what a great way to announce! Very fun. The glasses look nice too. Hope you feel better sweetie. =)
