Yarn Along

Last week, we found out that we will meet our new niece after Thanksgiving!  In the last twelve years, my in-laws have happily celebrated the birth of seven grandsons. Their only granddaughter turns thirteen years old next month. Needless to say, we love our boys, but everyone is excited to welcome another girl into the family. Hannah Marie is due to arrive in November.

I finished my rainbow scarf, and started knitting a Super Simple Baby Tunic. I am not knitting this tunic in traditional girl colors, but I think it will look adorable on Hannah. I hope to find buttons that will add a feminine touch. Her mom and dad have said that they do not want a diva baby, all feathers and bows. My brother-in-law has even mentioned buying Hannah some camouflage clothes. I think they will love this girly, but not too girly tunic top. However, the next item I knit for Hannah will be pink!

Right now, I am reading Strange Gods, written by Elizabeth Scalia. I love it! It is easy to read, thought provoking, and faith-filled. Definitely worth reading!

  4. Congrats on a new niece! Even without all the over the top "girly" stuff girls are fun to shop and knit for :) That looks like an interesting book, I'll have to add it to my (ever growing) list.

  5. Congratulations on the happy news! I'm jealous that there are no babies to knit for in my life at the moment!
Your rainbow scarf looks great :o)
