7 Very Quick Takes

1. One reason I have neglected my blog is that I have been very busy since school started. We are having a great year so far. We love most of our curriculum choices this year. I am thinking about writing up a post about what are using this year, but I keep talking myself out of it.

2. The other reason is that I was not sure if I wanted to keep blogging. I write all the time in an actual notebook. It helps me clear my head, but I never share what I write in my notebook here on the blog. I know that I have a couple friends and family members that enjoy reading updates about my family and craft projects, so I stick to those topics here. Plus, I have serious doubts that anyone is interested in my thoughts about anything, and fear plays a part in my decision to keep my writing to myself. Also, I just do not know if I have the time to keep up with blogging. Usually I write my posts when I have a few free minutes, and I don't always have the time to proof read them. I look back at old posts, and I cringe most of the time. Oh, the mistakes stare back at me, teasing me, haunting me. Okay, it is not that bad, but you know what I mean. Then I tell myself to get over it, to just keep using this space as an online scrapbook, and not worry about how silly, or shallow, or boring it may seem to some people. Like I mentioned before, there are some people that enjoy an update about my family. They are the reason I update this blog, so for now, I guess I will continue to blog.

3. I am sure you all have read this post from Heather, but if you have not, please, take the time to read it. She is one of my favorite bloggers. If you are new to her blog, you need to read over her old posts. Her stick figure illustrations are the best! Jen left a great quote from St. Augustine in the comments. It is so good that I want to share it here:

“Better that I should incur the blame of the grammarians than not be understood by the people." - St. Augustine

The boys and their cousin Dan in my sister-in-law's new playroom.

4. You may remember me mentioning that my sister-in-law and her family lived five houses down the street from us. Well, they moved to Maryland two weeks ago. Their new home is beautiful and sits on more than twenty acres of lush land. It is 45 minutes away. Needless to say, we are happy for them and sad for ourselves. It was truly a blessing to be able to live close to them for six years. We miss them.

5. Yesterday, I spent all day at the hospital with friends of ours who had their fourth baby by C-section. My friend's husband does not handle medical procedures well, so I have been her support person for three of their four children. The delivery of their third child was a traumatic experience. Yesterday was truly a beautiful experience. There were no complications and everyone was kind and helpful. I feel blessed to have been there with them.

6. I bought a new Mascara, and I love it. Oh, I hate it, too! It is Maybelline's Falsies Flare. It lifts, lengthens and thickens my lashes. However, it does not wash off. It is not water-proof! I have been unable to remove it with make-up remover, my cleansing oil or bar soap. When I wake up in the morning, my eyelashes are sort of stuck together. Then I have to wash them again, but some of the mascara is still there. It takes three to four washings to remove all of it. It is the best and worst mascara I have ever used.

7. I have a new hairstyle.
Bangs and a smoother look.

  1. Your hair looks fabulous!!! So flattering and I think it makes you look younger too - not that you look old, but you could easily pass for 30 with the new 'do :)

  2. Really cute style. I need to get mine cut. It has gotten so long that I'm afraid I may look like a 41 year old momma trying to look hto with her super long, shampoo commercial length hair, lol!
