Yarn Along

On Sunday, my sister-in-law gifted me with soft baby Alpaca yarn. She recently moved, and her nearest neighbors raise Alpacas and operate a country store.

I looked through my Super Stitches Knitting book and decided to knit a scarf in the Fir Cone lace pattern. I love this pattern. It is prettier in person than in the picture.

Most of my free time has not been spent knitting. I have been reading A Girl of the Limberlost, written by Gene Stratton-Porter, on my Kindle. It is my first time reading it, and I am enjoying it. I can see this book becoming a favorite of mine.

Yarn Along is hosted by Ginny at Small Things.

  1. You have a great sister in law! How soft that scarf will be.

  2. That looks like the same pattern I used on a cowl that I just made. My first time picking a stitch out of a book!

Limberlost is one of my favorite books of all time! I even have a first edition copy from my teen years that is, sadly, falling apart. Enjoy!

    1. Someone mentioned the book on a Yarn Along post recently, so I added it to my list. When I saw how affordable the Kindle edition was, I bought it right away. The story pulled me in immediately.

  3. ooo baby alpaca yarn scarf must be so soft and cozy! - the pattern is really nice :)

  4. That is a really lovely pattern and such a pretty color.

  5. How nice of you sister in law. :-) You chose a really great pattern for the scarf!

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to leave a friendly comment! :-)
