7 Quick Takes (vol.8)

1. This year we are using Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology (Young Explorer Series)  for Thomas and Ralph's science curriculum. I have used different Young Explorer Series before in the past, and we enjoyed them. However, this is the first year that I purchased the lab set. It is a great kit as it comes with almost everything we need to complete the  lessons.

We finally completed our first lab, although we are farther into the book. The boys enjoyed making the edible cell, even though our cell did not turn out quite like the picture in the book!

2. Two weeks ago I made my first purchase from thredUP. I used a link that Pam of Everyday Snapshots shared and saved $10 off of my first purchase, and Pam received $10 off of her next purchase. I ordered three skirts.

I only paid $9.97 including shipping after my $10 discount. My package arrived on Thursday. I am very happy with my purchase. Everything fits and is in great condition. If you have not tried thredUP  yet, give it a try! If you go through my link, you will receive $10 off of your purchase, and help me save on my next purchase. I think that is a win/win situation!

3. Recently my sister-in-law, Abby, spent a week in England. She brought us back goodies!

4. I am two reading books right now. I think they are both excellent books.
The Hormone Cure: Reclaim Balance, Sleep, Sex Drive and Vitality Naturally with the Gottfried Protocol is a great book for every woman that thinks she has a hormone imbalance.
Million Little Ways, A: Uncover the Art You Were Made to Live is an encouraging and inspiring book about becoming the person God has made you to be.

5. I watched a friend's daughter several days this week. Ralph had a blast playing with her. It was nice having a girl around the house.

6. My saint this year is St. Paul Miki. He is one of the twenty-six martyrs of Japan. I had not heard of him before the Saint Generator picked him for me. I am looking forward to learning about him this year.

7. My word of the year is fearless. I wrote about it here
