Yarn Along 2014 {three}

Reading: The Mysterious Benedict Society

I am still knitting my mother-in-law's sweater. The Knit Picks Comfy is so soft, but it sheds while I am knitting. One day I knit for a couple hours while wearing a black top. When I put my knitting aside, I realized that my top had light blue lint all over it! In spite of the shedding, I think (hope) my mother-in-law will be happy with her birthday present.

I started reading The Mysterious Benedict Society, written by Trenton Lee Stewart, aloud to Ralph and Thomas last week. We love it! I have read many books recommended to "lovers of Harry Potter" through the years that were not as impressive as those beloved books. The Mysterious Benedict Society may be the story that excites and captivates us just like the Harry Potter series. Every night as I close the book, the boys plead for more!

  2. The blue is so soft and calming. Beautiful! My 13 yr old has been reading The Chronicles of Prydain. He's really enjoying them. We may have to check out the Potter and Benedict books sometime soon as we haven't yet read either of those series.

  4. My boys enjoyed that book. They also liked the audiobook of "The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place."
