Saints, Beauty, and Food {Five Favorites}

I have five fun favorites this week, so I am linking up with Heather at Mama Knows, Honey Child for Five Favorites.

1. Tiny Saints - I went the IHM National Conference, which could easily be another favorite, this weekend. I had a wonderful time! Monica from Arma Dei: Equipping Catholic Families was in the vendor area. I introduced myself, and we had a lovely chat, and then I bought these adorable Tiny Saints from her. The boys and I plan to make a craft with them this week. And a small tidbit that has nothing to do with Tiny Saints, I was also able to meet Rosie from A Blog For My Mom.

2. OPI Liquid Sand  (associate link)-  My aunt bought these for me. Aren't they lovely? We both love sparkly nail polish, so she knew they would be the perfect gift for me this summer.

3. Nad's Facial Wand - I love this little wand. I have been waxing my eyebrows for years with wax strips or wax in a pot. This little wand is so easy to use, and it applies perfectly. I foresee no more eyebrow mistakes in my future with this nifty little wand!

4. Shallots from my garden -  My garden is a hot mess right now. It is full of weeds, and I lost all of my lettuce, spinach, and swiss chard. I could go on and on about how the weeds in my garden are a physical manifestation of the weeds that developed in my interior life while my grandmother was sick and dying, but I will spare you the torment. But the shallots they grew in spite of the weeds. They are a little small, but they taste wonderful and will be an excellent addition to our meals this summer.

5. My new bracelet - Here is the most recent piece of jewelry that I made. The wire, chain, and clasp are silver-plated metal. The stones are rainbow fluorite, and the Miraculous Medal was given to me by a friend that was recently in Paris. I couldn't love it more!

  3. Oh, your bracelet is so pretty. I love bracelets. I'm sorry about your grandmother. You know, one of the last Christmas gifts I gave my grandmother before she died was a bracelet--one of the ones with little pictures of the Blessed Mother all linked together--and she loved it so much.

    1. Thank you! I love bracelets, too. How wonderful that you were able to give your grandmother one last gift that she loved. :)

  4. Erica, I'm sorry about your loss. Also, I'm sorry that I haven't been in touch about that guest post. I've been overwhelmed lately, not even really keeping up with my blog too well. Ironically, one of the reasons I'm overwhelmed is that our second oldest son (the one who thought he would settle in this area) just moved down to VA. Talk about perfect subject matter for your guest post project...but I can't seem to write about it. Yet.

    I love your bracelet! It's so lovely.

  5. I was so glad to be able to meet you at the conference!

    And those shallots look tasty - did you grow from seeds or sets? We're trying onions for the first time this year but aren't having much luck, I think because I started from seeds instead of sets...

    1. I have only planted onions and shallots from sets. Some years they do well and other years not so much. I have read that the trick is exposing as much of the bulb as possible to the sunshine, but I am not sure how accurate that information is.
