Smart Phone, Baths, Love, Friends {AMT}

1. Do you have a smart phone?

I do. It is small older model, but it works for me. I can surf the web, check Facebook on it, and I signed up for an Instagram account yesterday, but I may not use it. Only time will tell!

It has a keyboard, which I prefer. It is small, so it doesn't take up too much space in my  purse. And because of its size, I do not spend a lot of time using my apps. The small screen is uncomfortable to read on, but I like having the ability to be able to use my apps in case I get stuck somewhere for a while with nothing to do.

My purple protector makes me happy.

I have had it since January 2013, and I hope it lasts me a while longer.

2. Which is your favorite meal of the day?

In my home meals involve good food and great company, so I am not picky. I like them all!

3. Shower or bath?

A lot of the time I choose a shower because it is quicker, but within the last year I decided that I really like baths. I wrote about my favorite detox bath ingredients here

4. Think of a person you love. How many days have you been in love with that person? (Don't worry, this site will do the math for you. And, hey, now you can order this card!)

I was a high school freshman, and he was a junior when he sang the question every high school girl hopes to hear from a cute boy she likes, "Erica, will you be my girlfriend? You're unbelievable! Oh!"  Hey, it was 1991! That was 8401 days ago or 23 years ago today!

5. What's the best church you've ever been inside?

When I toured the Chapel of the Holy Spirit while I was at a retreat in Illinois many years ago, I thought it was lovely. The colors were very calming.  This summer I went to Mass in Philadelphia at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal and it now ranks as the best church I have been inside. Although, I must admit they are decorated in very similar colors.

I love St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. It has been my favorite Church to got to Confession at, but the times that I have been there it was very dark and full of people. It did not leave me with the same impression as the other two churches.

6. Happy Feast of the Visitation! Has anyone ever come to help YOU?

Sure! I have lived in the same city all of my life; my family and friends live very close and help when I need it. Here are three examples of how my friends and family have helped me: my friend Renee came to my house while I was still in the hospital after having Thomas and washed all the dishes in my sink. Then my friend Julie and her daughter came over to help me transform my spare bedroom and storage room into Ralph's bedroom. My sister-in-law Kelly helped me do a little landscaping when we first moved into our home. There were several times when they helped me during a difficult miscarriage by just coming over  to keep me company. But these are just a few of the many ways that they have helped me through the years, and I am always happy to help them during their time of need.

Julie, Renee, me, and Kelly (plus my nephew Dan)

  1. My husband and I finally gave in and for smartphones this past October. We had had our old flip phone for over 5 years and they were almost not working at all anymore. We were resistant about getting iPhones at first because of the added cost but we do love them. I use mine mainly for texting, internet/social media, and apps. Actually my blogger iPhone app has really helped me with blogging lately because I've been able to update a post simply by whipping my phone out rather than sitting down at the computer. I love it! :)

    1. I think my phone is too small for me to comfortably do more than write a sentence or two. I do have a Kindle Fire, and I like using it when I can't or won't sit down in front of the desktop computer.

  2. How blessed you are with good friends. I love having the kind of friends who will not bat an eye at cleaning a bathroom for you. Or letting you clean theirs.

  4. I love those church photos. So beautiful! I am kind of addicted to my iphone because I keep everything on it. I also have the kindle app on it so 95% of my reading is done on there. :-)

    1. Thanks! Everyone I know with an iPhone loves it. I am sure that when I upgrade my phone, I will get one that is fancier, but I will probably not get an iPhone. I am not sure I need a phone that fancy! Ha!

  5. I am amazed of the things one can do with smartphone, it's frightening. I love St. Patrick in New York, that is where I met my husband. I have to go see for how many days . I have 3 showers in my house and only one big tub that we never use. I have to start using to get in some of those baths. God bless.

    1. We have a large tub, too. The kids were the only one who used it for the first several years we were in this house. Now I am a regular bath taker! :)
