12 in 2014

I love looking back at events through pictures. Some events I take a ton of pictures, but other occasions I don't take enough. And then there are some experiences that I take no pictures at all, but those are usually the ones when we are having so much fun that I am too busy to pick up my camera. When I read that Dwija at House Unseen was hosting the 12 favorite photos of the year link-up, I was all about joining her because I love lists of favorite things and link-ups.

I looked through all of my photos of 2014, and I had a blast. Although I had too many pictures of my knitting projects. What can I say, I love yarn. But don't worry, I didn't pick any pictures of yarn to share. Anyway, I decided to use photos that didn't make it to the blog this year. Though a couple of them had variations posted either here or on Facebook.

Without further ado (so cliche, I know), here are my favorite photos of 2014.

Yo ho, we're pirates. That we be!

This guy is always ready for a photo shoot!

Look! It's my man fixing an engine. Nice!

Homeschool field trip for the win.

Ralph lost two teeth!

Don't we look extra happy?

Sometimes I sit in the back with the shorter boys because the tallest boy needs the leg room of the front passenger seat. He 6 feet 3 1/2 inches tall, and I am 5 feet 4 inches short.

Holden's graduation day celebration with our homeschool group. A friend took this picture with her cell phone, so it is not the best quality, but I am so happy to have it.

I love this picture of Thomas that I took when we were at the zoo.

Holden bought Thomas an Olaf balloon for his birthday. It lasted for weeks, and everyone that visited loved it.

I took five pictures of this spider on a rose. The entire time I was worried that he was going to end up on me. I am fine with spiders as long as they are not on me!

I am a sucker for pictures of the sky. I think it would be fun to lay in a field all day and take pictures of the sky. I am not kidding.

Are you interested in more favorites? Yesterday I posted a list of my top posts of 2014. This year was a crazy roller coaster of grief and joy, loss and blessing. Check it out if you haven't already. Thanks for stopping by! See you in the new year!

    1. Graduating a child from homeschool is such a bitter sweet day. On one hand, it is a major accomplishment to have a child leave your tutelage and move on to college/career. But then again your baby is grown and doesn't need you like he once did. *sob* It all worth it, however. Every minute of it!

  4. Love the pictures Erica. I have some great pictures of a very large garden spider I took a couple of years ago and the whole time I was praying it wouldn't move...at all. One move and I would have had to run for my life!

    1. Thanks!

One day I was pulling weeds, a spider ran down my shirt and bit me. It was very painful. It ruined my opinion of spiders.

    1. I am happy to do it. I am glad that he still goes places with us. I know it won't be too long before he is too busy to travel with us.
